Meet the Team

Julianna Buller

Senior Analyst

Julianna is an experienced senior research analyst who brings a visual and metaphorical thought process to her work. This enables her to boil complex findings down to simple-to-understand and use insights. She loves seeing the impact her analysis work has for client organizations and the people they serve. The variety of market research consulting is a special joy, helping what might otherwise feel like routine work (rigorous analysis protocols) remain always fresh and intriguing. Personally, Julianna is a back-road connoisseur, avoiding main roads whenever possible to see things at a slower speed. Being surrounded by wheat fields, dirt roads, and family is the good life. She experiences true connection with people who appreciate the correct, appropriate use of commas.

David Lucas

Principal Consultant

David is a veteran market research consultant and strategist whose expertise lies in delivering actionable, goal-aligned insights for product, brand and marketing initiatives. His strengths-focused approach to attacking organizational decisions and his passion for human-anchored strategy have led him to successful career engagements with Fortune 100 corporations, scrappy startups, venerable non-profits, and everything in between. With experience leveraging insight at the whiteboard stage, implementation stage and in the board room and C-suite presentations, David focuses on connecting audience insights with an organization’s mission, resources, culture, and opportunities.

heather Lucas

Principal Consultant

Heather is a veteran market research leader with a particular skill for orchestrating the optimal mix of expertise, resource, and key partners for getting to actionable insights without breaking the bank. Her mix of academic training in research methodology, originally in the HR field, along with her client-side leadership of an internal research and insights department, allow her to unpack relevant findings with empathy and sensitivity for the stakeholders in the room—so the insights you receive actually get absorbed and utilized inside your organization. If your Dark Horse decision involves navigating the reality of organizational politics to get everyone on the same page, Heather brings the process and tools for succeeding at just that.

Megan Prahl

Research Analyst

Megan loves exploring and discovering connections between people, ideas, literature, art, music, food, words, which makes market research an ideal intersection for her skills and passion. She brings over 15 years of experience in the education space to her work as a research analyst. Outside work hours, she harmoniously collaborates with fellow musicians on her harp, delights in solo adventures with her cross country skis, and is working her way across the Colorado Trail during summers with her hiking posse.
